I’m working on an article on worship for an upcoming edition of the Christian Standard and I have a few questions that I’d like a bunch of Christians to answer.

One response to Hymnbooks?

We currently have six different worship teams and our worship ministry leader selects music based on the theme of the service AND the proclivities of the team that is scheduled. We have one team that is full-on electric contemporary (guitars, bass, drums etc.), one team that is the traditional piano & organ hymn combo, one team that is fully acoustic (guitars, dobro, fiddle) and blends contemporary music, hymns and bluegrass and three teams that are piano/ keyboard blended worship teams. We are very intentional about offering different styles of music. For better or for worse, we’re convinced this is the right way FOR US to exclude no one while encouraging everyone to value the differences of others. In any case, we HAVE hymnbooks but just never use them, even when we sing hymns.
