Shameless Name Dropping

July 15, 2010 — 1 Comment

Andrew Peterson is my friend and I love him and his family a ton.

I can’t wait to get his new album Counting Stars when it comes out on July 27th.

I’ve only heard one song from the album and–if the rest of the album is like Dancing in the Mine Fields–then we’re in for a treat.

I was blessed to preside at Andrew & Jamie’s wedding 15 years ago and to have witnessed their love up close.  This song is beautiful, well-written, and true.

On our wedding days we make promises.

To be faithful.

To be true.

To love each other–and only each other–as long as we both shall live.

And, as Andrew says so beautifully in this song, keeping these promises “is harder than we dreamed, but that’s what the promise is for.”
