What’s the best Christmas movie of all time?

December 16, 2008 — 5 Comments

My wife and I watched–what has to be–the worst Christmas movie of all time.

It was on Lifetime and it was called, On the 2nd Day of Christmas (1997)

It was horrible!  But, it made me start thinking about the best Christmas movies of all time.

Let’s have some fun.  Take my survey and let’s establish, The 2009 My Lord and My Blog Favorite Christmas Movie of All Time.

I’ll announce the results on Christmas Eve.

(You can vote as many times as you’d like.)

I liked “The Family Man” with Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni.

    “The Nativity”
    My reasons:
    * Little perpetuation of myths (except for the three wise men arriving on the birth night, and certainty about the star’s origin, but I’ll give the Director a “pass” for those)
    * The despair of the Jewish nation contrasted with the hope of the Messiah
    * The good character of Joseph and Mary honored without idolatry

Die Hard was a Christmas movie?

I’m sorry, but I LIKED “On the 2nd Day of Christmas”! I look forward to watching it every year. It’s nice to see the characters change.

I voted for “Christmas Vacation”. Gotta love the Griswalds!
