Locks of Love

October 30, 2008 — 4 Comments

I’m so proud of my little girl, Payton.  She just turned 5 and decided–yesterday–while she was getting her hair cut, that she wanted to donate her hair to Locks of Love.  Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

It was a small sacrifice that will make a big difference for a little girl out there.

My daughter can’t stop smiling.

She loves her new short haircut, but she seems even more excited that she had the chance to be Jesus to another child.

Now, I can’t stop smiling.

Love it, and love five year olds. She’s adorable.

That’s great! My wife just did the same thing for the first time last week. She has never had short hair during our 15 years of marriage until now. I like it, but my son is not too sure. (He still likes to snuggle up with her and twirl her hair with his fingers. Now he has much less to play with, but someone else has more to enjoy:)

I’m about to do this too. (How many Lead Ministers can say that?!?)
